MEDITATION the key to a better sex life

MEDITATION the key to a better sex life. Expert reveals the seven simple steps that will boost your libido and rebuild relationships

  • And expert Will Williams claims that Vedic meditation, a 5,000-year-old technique, can help to improve not only our mind but our sex life too.

  • This form of meditation works by simply using a personalized sound you repeat silently in your head, which helps trigger a deep relaxation response in your nervous system.

  • Do this for twenty minutes, twice per day, and you'll find it's a great way to bring yourself back to the present, away from racing thoughts.

  • Through meditation, we can be more present, more patient, and more attentive to our partners. And that means our relationships improve.

Here Williams reveals how to integrate the technique into your life...

Meditation tips
 1. Sit comfortably with your back supported. Close down your eyes, relaxing the muscles around them, as well as the crown of your head, your forehead and your jaw. Feel your shoulder blades melt down your back. The more the body is relaxed, the more the mind is able to relax into deep meditation.

2. Start by taking some deep breaths, filling up the lungs and exhaling deeply. Repeat this a few more times, before coming back to the natural rhythm of your breath.

3. Gently introduce the mantra, or sound, 'So Hum'. Gently repeat this mantra silently in your head.

4. If any thoughts come and go, allow them to. We're not trying to push these thoughts away, simply bring your awareness back to the mantra each time.

5. Keep repeating the mantra for 6-8 minutes.

6. When you are ready, gently stop repeating the mantra and take a couple of minutes to relax, keeping your eyes closed.

7. Open your eyes.

1. Desire
The more we meditate, the more we can restore balance between the left and right hemispheres of our brain.
Most of us our left-brain dominant, which means we spend most of our time analysing the past or planning for the future.
By bringing equilibrium back into our brains, we get better at enjoying what’s happening right now.
That translates to greater sexual desire and—according to some reports—more ‘staying power’.

2. Energy
Any couple that’s gone through a dry spell will tell you that fatigue is a killer. In fact, it’s one of the most common reasons why people lose interest in sex. But meditation can help here, too: not only is it a highly effective antidote for insomnia, it can improve sleep quality even in those who are already sound-sleepers. And better rest means more energy, which means more sex.

3. Intimacy
When we’re stressed, we often take out our frustration on those closest to us. For anyone in a relationship, that usually means your partner.  Vedic meditation triggers the brain to release endorphins—hormones which bring about feelings of mild euphoria and well-being.  Naturally this makes you a more pleasant (and present) person to be around, and that leads to greater intimacy with your partner.

4. Intensity
Stress kills desire. In women, levels of the stress hormone cortisol can rise so high that it makes orgasm physically impossible to achieve.

Regular meditation quiets the overactive mind, which is one of the major causes of anxiety and stress.
And it not only decreases levels of cortisol, it increases levels of dopamine and serotonin, ’happiness’ chemicals that improve the frequency and intensity of orgasm.

5. Confidence
Sex should be about pleasure and connection. But for many, performance or body anxiety has stripped sex of its enjoyment.  Meditation can help to stop the non-stop negative mental chatter, the ‘monkey mind’ that make some of us feel less confident and unattractive in the bedroom.

That translates to more frequent, more satisfying lovemaking.

For goodness sake. Talk to each other, read a good book together, or admit your just not compatible. Why make life more complicated, save your money and work it out as a couple.

My wife cut me back to once a week, but I don't mind. Some guys she cut out altogether.
